It all started with two 12 year olds and a couple of push mowers. Not yet old enough to drive, but eager to make money, Doug and Perry began mowing lawns on the weekends for their neighbors and friends' parents. As word began to spread, the young teenagers decided to take their business to the water to cover more ground for those places out of walking range. And as the story goes, the boys loaded a bass boat with mowers and trimmers and took to the water to service their many lakeside clients.
Fast-forward to today and now D&P is a successful, award-winning landscaping business with multiple trained and experienced employees. We continue to service clients on and around the lake – we just use a different mode of transportation than that of our earlier days.
We are proud recipients of the Smith Mountain Laker Magazine award for multiple years in a row. For the past nine years, we have either received platinum, gold, or silver for the best landscaping business in the area.
